Young Thug shares reason he avoids being around Gunna

Young Thug and Gunna have stayed apart since both accepted plea deals in the YSL RICO case.

The trial focused on racketeering charges involving Young Thug and others tied to the YSL record label, which prosecutors claimed operated as a criminal street gang.

The rapper appeared on the It’s Up There Podcast on Monday, where he explained why he can no longer have Gunna close to him.

"I'm not gonna be able to look at him the same, no matter what," he said.

"I'm not gonna be able to look at you the way I looked at you before we went to jail. I love you to death. I know you love me. We love each other to death, but we just going our own ways."

Gunna accepted a plea deal in December 2022 to secure his release from jail, which included acknowledging that YSL was a gang.

Young Thug stayed in custody until he reached his own plea deal in October 2024, and since leaving prison he has not spoken with his YSL protégé.

The Havana artist added: "I know how I felt about you. I know what I did with you and for you. You know all the times we shared."

Looking ahead, if Thug and Gunna find themselves in the same space, he said fans should not expect a warm reunion between the former collaborators, though there will not be hostility either.

"I still want you to eat, just not at my table," Thug concluded.
