A$AP Rocky and Rihanna have kept fans guessing about their relationship status for years. The power couple, who began dating in the early 2020s, have never publicly tied the knot or shared any wedding details. Secret ceremonies do happen, but they rarely stay secret for long.
After casually calling Rihanna his “wife” several times, it now seems A$AP Rocky is comfortable referring to himself as her “husband.” Whether or not they’re legally married is still unclear. But during a new interview with Perfect this week, the Harlem rapper proudly used the title when describing his life and what brings him happiness.
“I think peace really makes me happy,” he said. “Being a father and a partner and a loving husband in my family is what makes me really, really happy. I hope this doesn’t sound cliché, and I would hate if it does, because that’s what honestly does get me going.”
He added, “Being able to express myself creatively, being able to be a family man and being able to be an artisan. It doesn’t matter what hat I wear that day, it’s just about being able to give it my all and do these things.”
A$AP Rocky DON'T BE DUMB
Just last month, A$AP Rocky seemed a bit more cautious about revealing his relationship status during a chat with Elle Magazine. “How you know I’m not already a husband? I’m still not gonna confirm it,” he said at the time. Until fans spot a wedding ring on either of their fingers, it’s fair to treat the “husband” label as unofficial—at least for now.
In the same conversation with Perfect, Rocky also addressed his long-delayed album DON’T BE DUMB. The project has been in limbo for several years, and fans have started to lose hope of ever hearing it.
“It’s not really about who did it first,” he explained. “It’s about who did it the best. Everything I do is about building a legacy. That’s why I’m not so eager to just drop, drop, drop. I don’t do things to stay relevant or keep my name in the conversation. I try to do natural, creative, ambitious things that really satisfy me.”
