Paris Jackson has offered words of encouragement to others who are navigating sobriety, sharing solidarity with those walking a similar road.
The daughter of music icon Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, opening up about the personal challenges she has faced over the past six years.
“Getting sober ain't always the indication that life is perfect,” she wrote alongside a video montage capturing moments from the last year. “A few years in, it all got very, very hard for what felt like an eternity.”
She went on to explain, “I didn't have the same survival skills I was used to having to cope. I had to learn to live life on life's terms.”
Jackson, who gave up alcohol in 2020, also spoke candidly about the mental health battles she has experienced since making that decision.
“Treatment-resistant major depressive disorder is a bch, so is PTSD and OCD,” she shared. “If you've got this st or anything of the sort, you're not alone. Hang in there, and if no one's told you they love you today, I love you.”
She also reflected on a major milestone she reached in her recovery journey around this time last year.
“Hi, I'm PK, and I'm an alcoholic and a heroin addict,” she wrote on Instagram in January 2025. “Today marks 5 years clean and sober from all drugs and alcohol. To say that I'm thankful would be a poor euphemism. Gratitude hardly scratches the surface.”
Beyond her personal journey, the model, actor, and musician has continued to build her own creative path, including the release of her debut album Wilted.
“I get to make music. I get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. I get to feel heartbreak in all its glory,” she wrote at the time.
“I get to grieve. I get to laugh. I get to dance. I get to trust. I feel the sun on my skin, and it's warm.”
