Chris Martin shares he is unconcerned if Coldplay’s music is ever sold for cheap

Chris Martin says he would have no issue if Coldplay’s albums eventually ended up in the “bargain bin.”
The Viva La Vida band are one of the most successful groups in the world, yet they remain one of the most divisive names in modern music.
As frontman, Chris has always used his voice to promote hope and peace, bringing people together worldwide. Still, he admits he has often struggled with the backlash from those he upsets.
Speaking to Will Best on Hits Radio’s Off the Record: Coldplay Special, he said, “Almost every time that I have said anything that we really believe in, in terms of equality, empathy, the things that I believe will help humans, they have somehow become viral, negatively, like a group of people are angry because I want to love all people.
“I am not angry at those people that are angry at me but I was starting to get a bit like, ‘do I have to stop saying that we welcome people from all…?’”
Chris has not let the criticism silence him and instead responds with “love.”
He added, “No I am never gonna stop that and if that angers people well I love those people too, so I can’t do anything.
“It’s not an empty platitude; it’s a considered position from a group of people that have met more humans in history.”
Coldplay’s music has long divided opinion. Their stadium-sized anthems have won them international praise, but at the same time they have become the subject of ridicule, with critics mocking their supposed blandness and lack of edge.
Drummer Will Champion reflected, “I think maybe no one else dares to be so idiotically simplistic.”
Chris concluded, “I don’t mind if we’re just in the bargain bin in the service station in ten years.”
