Ed Sheeran clears up rumors about moving to the US

Ed Sheeran has spoken out to clear up the rumors about him moving to the United States.

Talk began after the Bad Habits singer appeared on The 2 Johnnies Podcast, where he made a passing remark that led to speculation he might be leaving his home in England.

During the interview, Sheeran joked about relocating to America, explaining how it seemed unusual compared to other stars who have been leaving the US for elsewhere.

"I'm just about to move to America," he told the hosts. "I feel like I might be the only person moving to America. I'm going on tour there for a while, and I have a family, so I can't dip in and out. We're going and settling there."

He later set the record straight in a post on his Instagram Stories.

"Way easier to clear up stuff on here, so here's me setting the record straight, coz there's deffo a narrative press are trying to push that people wanna move out of the UK for some reason," he wrote.

"I'm not moving, I'm going on tour with my family and relocating to the continent I'm touring on, don't wanna commute from London to San Diego, obvz."

He also dismissed the idea that taxes had anything to do with the move.

"Also, this isn't a tax thing, it's USA, not UAE," he wrote. "I'll always pay tax in the UK coz that's where I live."
