Normani says she is feeling “more motivated and inspired than ever” at this stage of her career.

The 29 year old artist put out her debut solo record Dopamine in 2024, and she has now shared that her creativity feels stronger than it has ever been before.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, the former Fifth Harmony member, who is engaged to NFL player DK Metcalf, opened up about her mindset, saying: “I feel more motivated and inspired than ever. And, you know, since I put out [Dopamine], a lot has changed.

“I’ve been going through so many major life transitions that I’m really, really excited for, and I see so much beauty in [them], and I’m just enjoying the journey and the process in those transitions. And so, for me, the sky really is the limit.”

Normani also confirmed that she is already working on fresh material and is excited for listeners to hear what comes next.

The Motivation singer added that her upcoming music sees her reconnecting with where she started creatively.

Normani shared: “You know, I pay attention to my fans.

“I might not be the best when it comes to social media, and I’ve made that vow to myself that I am going to be better at that, not only for myself, but also for the people who support me and my fans, but I pay close attention, and I see their responses. I see what they want and what their desires are for me. I’m taking it back to my roots a little bit as well.”

In the past, Normani has been open about struggling with confidence while working on her first solo album.

After Fifth Harmony announced their hiatus in 2018, she stepped out on her own, but the road to releasing Dopamine came with setbacks and long delays.

During an appearance on the Zach Sang Show, Normani reflected on that period and said: “I deserve to enjoy what I'm doing, and I would definitely say that I wish I enjoyed this process a lot more than I did.

“But there were so many different things attached to it. So next time I'm going to be like, ‘No, I'm going to have the best time ever.’”
