Kid Cudi Performs His Own Stunts In ‘Sonic’ Spin-Off BTS Footage: ‘The Illest Experience’

Lil Wayne‘s youngest son has a rather surprising choice for his dad’s best album, but he acknowledges that his age is a factor in the equation.
In a new sit-down for TRSH Mag, 15-year-old Neal (who goes by Lil Novi) was asked to choose his favorite Weezy album – and he immediately noted he’d get “cooked” for his answer.
“I’m finna be so cooked for this question because it’s just not my generation, bruh,” Novi said. “I was born in [2009]. I listen to kind of his newer music. I don’t really listen to his older stuff but I’ll say his top album I would say is the newest Carter. I think it’s Carter V? But yeah, that shit was hard. That shit was great.”
Tha Carter V arrived in 2018 following years of delays amid Wayne’s then-beef with Birdman. While it arguably didn’t compare to the previous installments in the series (particularly fan-favorites Tha Carter II and Tha Carter III), it still did well and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 480k album-equivalent units.
Lil Novi is actually following in his father’s footsteps by pursuing a career in music, but fans are divided by the results so far.
In March, the then-14-year-old went live on Instagram to share a snippet of a new song while throwing up hand sings and dancing to it.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti and Yeat, the track features distorted high-pitched vocals over a bass-heavy, video game-esque beat.
The full lyrics are hard to make out, but Neal can be heard making references to drug use and sex.
Soon after the clip began making the rounds online, fans took to social media to share their thoughts on it, and some were less than impressed.
“Bro didn’t get the right genes,” one critic wrote on Instagram, while another added: “How is your dad one of the best rappers alive and you do this.”
Others, however, showed more leniency to the teen with comments like “He gonna drop a banger in 10 years probably” and “Nah this better than Ken [Carson] its actually tuff.”
Neal was born in November 2009 during Lil Wayne’s on-again, off-again relationship with Nivea.
The pair were engaged in the early 2000s and had their only child together after rekindling their relationship years later, but finally called it quits in 2010.
