Kid Cudi performed many of his own stunts for the Sonic The Hedgehog spin-off series Knuckles, and ahead of the premiere of the newest Sonic movie, he revisited his show with some BTS footage.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday (December 1), Cudder shared a series of videos from rehearsal and filming for the Paramount+ show, which aired back in April, and on which he had a recurring role as “Mason.”
“In honor of Sonic 3 droppin in a few weeks, here’s some #knuckles bts,” he wrote. “Was a lot of fun to get physical and do some of my own stunt work. This was one of the illest experiences ever and im so thankful to be apart of the Sonic Fam. Big love to Toby [Ascher, showrunner], Ben [Schwartz, who voices Sonic], Jeff [Fowler, director and executive producer] and big boss Neal [Moritz] for holding me down [prayer and heart emojis]
“I think yall can tell I was havin the best fuckin time on that set. ALSO!! Big love to the entire stunt team for training me and getting me ready for my brawls.”
Deadline announced Cudi’s inclusion in the Netflix film in October, though they noted that his role – as well as the film’s plot – is still under wraps. Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will be reprising their roles of Virginia Venit and Shooter McGavin, respectively, and Sandler previously teased that both Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny will be making appearances as well.
Sharing the news in a post to Instagram, Cudi wrote: “I’ve been wanting to talk about this for a minute!!! This is so fuckin HUGE. Its been a long time dream of mine to work w Adam, hes my favorite, and his movies and comedy made up my childhood.
“Another dream come true. BLESSED!! Get ready, this ones gonna be EPIC.”
Cudi is on a roll with his acting career, and also recently revealed he landed a starring role for what will be his third movie in the horror genre.
“I cant wait to film this new flick im doin next year,” he wrote on X in August. “Its my 3rd horror movie, and im the lead. Its a pretty fuckin intense ride, and im ready show yall what im truly capable of. This whole time Ive been studyin as an actor waitin for this one moment. If u love horror movies, u will fuckin love this.”
The news arrived just weeks after the release of Cudi’s latest movie, an M. Night Shyamalan thriller titled Trap.
