Peezy has spent the last three years crafting what may be his most personal project yet. The Detroit rapper’s new album STILL GHETTO arrives as a powerful statement of survival, ambition, and staying true to himself.
Building on the momentum of his 2023 release GHETTO, this record broadens his vision, combining stories of struggle with rare moments of softness. The outcome is a portrait of an artist who has endured the weight of his city without letting go of its essence.
The album shows both versatility and focus, moving smoothly between high-energy anthems and quieter reflections. The collaborations bring plenty of force but never take away from Peezy’s presence.
“All That,” featuring Chicken P, captures the spirit of a street celebration, while Icewear Vezzo links with him on “So Ghetto” for an unfiltered Detroit anthem. Babyface Ray strengthens the loyalty-driven track “Let’s Talk About It.”
French Montana adds swagger to “The Warm Up,” Rick Ross layers in his signature luxury on “Hide The Rest,” and Jeremih offers a soulful touch on “Lovin’ On Me,” where Peezy opens up about love and vulnerability. The album closes with Big Sean, who delivers a finale tinged with gospel and rooted in hometown pride.
Even with such heavy names involved, Peezy remains firmly in control. His solo songs form the heart of the project. “If I Can Make It” is a testament to resilience born from hardship, while “Day Dreaming” captures both fatigue and optimism, revealing a rare glimpse into his inner thoughts. His storytelling turns pain into power, transforming lived experiences into vision.
What separates STILL GHETTO from his past work is its intimacy. Peezy goes beyond recounting the realities of street life to reflect on the emotional price it demands. The listener hears not just his triumphs but also the doubts, the pauses in between, and the fragile comfort found in love.
With STILL GHETTO, Peezy delivers the defining project of his career so far. It is a record that blends Detroit grit with unflinching honesty, reshaping resilience into art.
