BLACKPINK’s label YG Entertainment has downplayed reports claiming that the K-pop group is set to release a new album in December.

News outlets in South Korea recently suggested that the How You Like That hitmakers — Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé — would drop a new record before the end of the year. YG, however, made it clear that “nothing is decided” when it comes to the release.

The company stated: “Nothing has been decided regarding the group’s comeback.”

YG founder Yang Hyun-Suk had hinted earlier this year that BLACKPINK was aiming to release their third studio album by November.

Speaking on YG’s YouTube channel in August, he shared: “A lot of fans are curious about BLACKPINK’s album. I know the members and producers working with them are putting in a lot of effort. I’m hoping for BLACKPINK’s album to be out by November at the latest. That’s what I’m pushing for — we’ll do our best to make it happen soon.”

Since the release of Born Pink in 2022, the group has mostly focused on solo projects. Earlier this year, Lisa revealed that the members were already back in the studio working on new material for their next record.

In an interview with Variety, the 28-year-old singer said: “Actually, we were in the studio a few days ago. We’re all so super excited to get back together and go on tour. We really miss the Blinks. We can’t wait to see them.”

The Sour Candy performers have since launched their Deadline World Tour, and Lisa told fans to “be patient” as they await new music.

The White Lotus star said: “You have to be patient about it. It’s coming soon, I promise. It’s about time.”

Meanwhile, Lisa teamed up with Maroon 5 on the track Priceless in May, and the band’s frontman Adam Levine shared that the song reminded him of their early sound.

He explained: “It’s just a guitar-based song, which we haven’t done in so long. It came together while we were working on the album. It’s probably the purest thing we’ve recorded in a while, and we’re so happy to have Lisa on it. The guitar intro is literally me playing into an audio message on my iPhone with an unplugged guitar. I actually got a little emotional recording it because it felt like reconnecting with our roots. A lot of our fans have been asking to hear that sound again. It’s been over 20 years, so I think it’s time for that to return.”
