Diana Ross has been confirmed as the headline act for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, organisers announced on Wednesday.

The I’m Coming Out singer will welcome 2026 with a live performance from New York’s Times Square as part of the annual ABC broadcast, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

Ross is set to deliver a hits filled medley during the show, featuring fan favourites such as Upside Down and I’m Coming Out.

Sharing her excitement in a statement, she said: “As we step into a new year together, I hope we can welcome fresh beginnings, new possibilities and renewed happiness. It will be a moment of love and unity as we start 2026 side by side.”

Ross takes over from country superstar Carrie Underwood, who headlined last year’s Times Square celebrations. The 2025 broadcast attracted more than 29 million viewers at the stroke of midnight.

The news follows the recent reveal of a massive 39 artist lineup for the 2026 show. Performers confirmed include 50 Cent, Chappell Roan, Post Malone, Mariah Carey, Charlie Puth, Demi Lovato, Maren Morris, OneRepublic and Pitbull.

Ryan Seacrest and Rita Ora will return to host from Times Square, while Chance the Rapper will oversee the Central Time Zone countdown in Chicago. NFL legend Rob Gronkowski is back alongside Dancing with the Stars presenter Julianne Hough, who will make her debut as a New Year’s Rockin’ Eve co host in Las Vegas.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2026 will air live on ABC on Wednesday 31 December at 8pm EST, with the full broadcast available to stream on Hulu the following day.
